Skiing, a few days on...

Well, it's now 3 days since we all got back to England and vowed never to set foot on a trans-Europe coach again.
I think it's fair to say everyone had a fantastic week. (I'm sure even Liam and Vicky would agree, although they could probably have done without the injuries...)
All of the Explorers did fantastically well - Jack and the 3 Matts swore blind they hadn't been skiing before, but were ready for anything the resort could throw at them by the end of the week. Eddie and Tom could already ski, but bonus points for not injuring yourselves during 6 days of skiing, lads.

Day 1 & 2 : Travelling, travelling,skiing and some very dodgy dancing...

Well, after just over 24 hours in a coach with 30 well behaved and quiet scouts we arrived safely in sunny Austria. After initial concerns regarding the apparent comphrensive lack of snow of any sort, we learnt to our relief that the slopes we'd be using were safely above the snowline. Just the hotel with sun loungers and parasols then...

So what does WESU stand for?

That would be Wombourne Explorer Scout Unit.

Notice the emphasis... When we wrote the programme for the first half of this year we decided to change things a bit. For a start, we had shakey, matt and barney there to tell us if the things we were suggesting sounded brilliant, alright, or just sucked.
We wanted to write the busiest and best programme we've ever had. We wanted to make sure that once we'd written it, we stuck to it instead of making last minute changes (apart from when needs must, like the hut being covered in wet paint...)
We also wanted a slight change of direction.

New Programme

Well, it's been a while since we set this site up. We had a meeting yesterday to get the new programme sorted, which takes us right up to the Sun Run. There's a few more camps and things to add in, but I don't know exactly what and when yet. They'll probably be one day things, or maybe Friday night to Saturday evening, give you all chance to do whatever it is you do on Sunday mornings. We want to go climbing for a weekend in October too. That's more than likely going to be in Snowdonia... There's a lot on offer round there.
As soon as I've got it sorted, I'll put a post up with a link to a downloadable, printable version of the programme. Print it out and stick it on the fridge, it's always useful to let your parents know what we're up to and when...

First post...

Well, you know. You've got to try these things. Loving the new website. Hopefully going to be really useful. Also loving the fact that I now know it's 217 days till the next Sun Run!
