Notice the emphasis... When we wrote the programme for the first half of this year we decided to change things a bit. For a start, we had shakey, matt and barney there to tell us if the things we were suggesting sounded brilliant, alright, or just sucked.
We wanted to write the busiest and best programme we've ever had. We wanted to make sure that once we'd written it, we stuck to it instead of making last minute changes (apart from when needs must, like the hut being covered in wet paint...)
We also wanted a slight change of direction.
The last year or so, despite being busy hasn't included as much as we wanted of the core 'Scouty' stuff - Award work.
That doesn't mean we want you all to be sitting in the hut quietly for two hours writing stuff down, or going out washing cars and helping old ladies to cross the road*. It means that almost every meeting should give you something constructive. Our new pedal powered go kart project. Mountain bike maintenance followed by a weekend of off road biking. Landscaping the outside of the hut, and building a barbeque. Making traps and snares, and cooking what you might catch without giving yourself food poisoning. Almost everything we've got planned contributes something to one of the awards. Of course, we still have the occasional week where we'll be off to the cinema, ice skating, laser quest, or something similar, even we need a break sometimes...
Anyway, it seems to be working well. Stretch's First Aid award session last night went down very well and all of you that were there will be getting one of the first aid awards. We'll be doing more of that sort of thing over the year, whether it's first aid, swimming, computer skills.. it's up to you. Let us know what you want to do.

Our current programme is set to run out just after the Sun Run. We'll be looking for a few volunteers to help put the next one together towards the end of June. That way, we know we're organising stuff that you want to do.
