Hey Scouty people, this is my first blog. Mountain-biking was great at the weekend despite having an old Raleigh Mohawk with no suspension, 10 gears and dodgy brakes. On Saturday we took the bikes up past Towers onto the Marin trail straight onto a fast rocky off-road down hill. Lots of technical sections till just before lunch when I came off. After that we had to endure at least two miles of uphill riding. At lunch it started chucking it down making the route back to the Swallow Falls even more dangerous. Eddy did a pretty impressive cartwheel off his bike doing 20 mph hardly damaging his bike.
Best Bit: The Big Jump section with at least ten big jumps.
Worst Bit: The 2-mile climb out of the carpark after the Big Jump section.
And prizes go to:
First Crash: Drew, on the Carpark
Best Crash: Eddy, on the hill back down to Towers
Most Damage: Jack, buckled back wheel
Best Jump: Stretch
Furthest Jump: Drew, but he missed the track when he landed
I've got some pics an I'll get 'em to Phil and Iain as soon as.
