International Experiences

dsc_0243__1_A World Scout Jamboree is organised by the World Organization of the Scout Movement, typically attended by several tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world, aged 14 to 17. The first World Scout Jamboree was organized by The Boy Scout Association in London. With exceptions for the war years, it has been organized approximately every four years, in the more recent years by the WOSM, in different locations over the world.

2007 - 21th World Scout Jamboree - Chelmsford, Essex

2011 - 22st World Scout Jamboree - Kristianstad, Sweden

2015 - 23nd World Scout Jamboree - Kirarahama, Japan

2019 - 24rd World Scout Jamboree - West Virginia, USA

  • Selection weekend - 7th October 0930 to 8th October 1630
  • Birthday between 22nd July 2001 and 21st July 2005

2023 - 25th World Scout Jamboree - Saemangeum, South Korea

If you speak to participants who have been fortunate to attend these events, they will confirm that they are life changing, unique experiences. Those who have completed Young Spokesperson Training will likely be asked to speak to the media and be involved in various publicity events upon returning to the UK to talk about their experience, as shown below.


The Blair Atholl Jamborette is Scottish Scouting's premier international event. It brings together over 1,000 Explorer Scouts and Leaders from all over the world for a 10 day camp in a picturesque corner of highland Perthshire.
