Warrior Explorer Scout Unit prides itself on the diverse range of activities it provides for its unit members, so much so that we've attracted media attention.
World Scout Jamboree
The Unit has a number of young people who were competitively selected to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in 2019!
Mystery Trip 2018 - Amsterdam
Our trip to Amsterdam in 2018 caused quite a stir in the local media!
Mystery Trip 2016 - Copenhagen
A total of 37 Explorer Scouts and 7 leaders from three local units spent their February weekend in wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen - the twist was, Explorers didn't know where they were jetting off to! They were just told to turn up at Edinburgh Airport on Friday morning with their passports. Whilst away, we were extremely well looked after by our Danish Scouting colleagues, who acted as tour guides and could not have been more hospitable and we look forward to returning the favour in the future. The Explorers enjoyed visiting Copenhagen Zoo, an aerial assault course, iMax cinema and speedboating. The 29th ESU also invested two new members into the unit, and we even made it into the paper and The UK Scout Association did a blog post on International Trip Top Tips!

Million Hands Project
As part of The Scout Association's #AMillionHands project, the Unit chose to assist with a local dementia centred care home. As part of our pledge, we visited Williamwood House Care Home, where Explorers played games with, read to and painted nails of residents, as well as showing off their musical skills on the keyboard. Our project was highlighted by Scouts Scotland and was also part of an article in the Huffington Post.
